Cantieri di Sarnico Yachts was established in 1992 on the shores of Lake Iseo. The first model, the Maxim 55, was launched two years after the company began, and was unveiled only when the model had achieved levels of style and performance deemed worthy of the image and the standard of excellence the yachting shipyard wished to create for itself. In 1995 the Maxim 45 made its debut at the Genoa Boat Show, a model that is still in production under the name Sarnico 45.

In 1997 the Foresti Family took over the shipyard and with Antonio as Chairman and Luigi as CEO, an important company development plan was set in motion.

During 2007, Cantieri di Sarnico acquired the Giacomo Colombo S.p.A, the historical shipyard on Lake Como founded in 1956, famous for its fast and prestigious motor boats and day cruisers. During the same year four companies were gathered under the same Group: the shipyards Sarnico and Colombo, Sarnico II – moulding and assembling fibreglass products - and Yacht Service Rapallo - for assistance and storage.
