The Nova 27 S has been developed under the motto EASY. The boat is lightweight, and it is both easy to handle and to produce. This provides a number of advantages for both the boat owner and for the manufacturing process, as well as, of course, for the environment. The fact that the boat is lightweight also gives it speed despite the use of a smaller engine, reducing fuel consumption and thereby emissions of both harmful exhaust fumes and carbon dioxide. The low weight also means fewer raw materials are consumed, and, in fact, environmental benefits can be achieved all along the chain from manufacture to customer. On top of this, almost all plastic manufacturing employs an extremely environment-friendly closed manufacturing process. The production technique that is used is known as vacuum injection and is based on two moulds positioned opposite one another in a vacuum. The negative pressure draws the polyester in between the moulds, and as the method is closed, the environmental impact is more or less negligible. In addition, the quality of the end product is both higher and more consistent.
The distinguishing characteristics of the boat include a number of innovative solutions. The “sidewalk” concept allows unique spaciousness for this boat’s class. Although the boat measures just 27 feet, it meets the whole family’s requirements for everything from sport and fishing to comfortable lengthy voyages. Good stowage space and a layout that suits a whole family are unusual in a boat of this class. The generously-proportioned cabin has a large V-shaped bed at the prow, as well as a bunk towards the rear on the starboard side of the boat. It also has a large toilet with shower option. The bunks are separated by clothing storage spaces. As well as the bunks in the cabin, beneath the canopy of the cockpit there is a dining unit that can be converted into a bed.
The boat’s cockpit has a spacious galley with a cooker, sink and fridge. On the port side there are sofas with a table between them and aft there is a deck with a sofa like that of “big sister” boat, the 30 Nova S.
Simple canopy handling, sporty yet straightforward manoeuvrability, solid fenders and, of course, a very well-planned production process, gives the new Nimbus 27 Nova S unique characteristics. This gives the boat owner a lightweight boat, which, with its minimal environmental impact, is ideal for most activities at sea.
